Established in 1890, the main drag of Vienna got the name of Maple Avenue from the long lane of maples that grew to shade the street. Although those days have passed and the trees have since come and gone, it still maintains its small town charm with amazing access to urban life.

Vienna is host to year long celebrations along Church St. and on the Town Green. Nearly every resident marks the date for Viva Vienna, a Memorial weekend long festival with rides, food trucks and vendors up and down Church St. For 70 years, Maple Avenue shuts down for the Halloween Parade; local businesses and clubs plan all year for their floats to entertain the town's dressed up children! Residents reserve spaces along Maple Ave. early in the morning for the 7pm parade. The energy and community feel on this October night best exemplify Vienna's atmosphere. The Town also celebrates with fireworks on the Fourth of July, and an Octoberfest. These periodic celebrations really glue the community together. You can be sure to run into the same community leaders at each event.
Vienna boasts Wolf Trap Farm Park and The Barns at Wolf Trap. Acts from across the globe frequent this venue, with a trend towards more independent musicians.
